Sessions
The sessions of November 27th will begin at 09:00 a.m. Doors will be open at 08:30 a.m. Please make sure you arrive in time!
The presentations will last until approx. 06:00 p.m. In this time there will be a short morning break for breakfast, about 1 hour lunch break and a coffee break in the afternoon. After the presentations we will conclude the day with a software raffle at approx. 07:00 p.m.
Here is a short overview of the sessions we will present:
Placing an order, or receiving an order for some goods or services can be a long drawn out process involving: completing numerous forms, requiring multiple authorising signatures, providing different personnel with a copy of all the forms, waiting on finance to provide a Purchase Order number and so on. There's nothing good about this process.
In this session we'll see how ColdFusion can improve this process and ultimately make the workflow more streamlined and more importantly, make sure you get that copy of Guitar Hero: World Tour much sooner to help boost the developers morale.
Whether you are already used to developing object-oriented applications or are a hardened veteran of the coding trenches, this presentation will introduce you to easy framework of Model-Glue.
Model-Glue allows you to develop applications on the Model-View-Controler design pattern, hassle free. Your coding will become re-usable and DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself)! Covering topics of configuration, development, best practice and scaffolding this presentation will get you up and running and coding extensible applications in 60 minutes or less!
Accessing your database from CFML has never been easier, but with that ease, comes a lot of repetitive code. This repetitive code starts spreading across your files and the developer gets bored (and maybe even a bit too 'creative'!).
In this presentation Mark Drew will guide you through using Reactor, an ORM for CFML! This will allow you to create easy and re-usable code that is easy to extend and even make into your whole Service Layer.
This session will cover a brief intro to the novel features of ColdBox and then go into details about what it offers as a Development Platform. At the end Luis will showcase the multiple samples and application generation.
Overview of the top 10 of the most common security vulnerablities of web applications with examples and solutions.
This session will not cover unit testing basics, but the integration of
MXUnit into the development cycle.
First we will discuss the MXUnit Framework installation and
configuration. Then we'll learn how to setup the environment for
testing, how to integrate MXUnit into Eclipse (using the Eclipse Plugin)
and how to configure the test stub generator. We go into details about
how to use the Ant task and integrate MXUnit with CruiseControl.
In this session Gert Franz will introduce the latest features in Railo 3.0.x as well as the Extension Manager from Railo 3.1. Gert will also show how some Tips n'Tricks on how to make Railo and ColdFusion perform better. If you want to know now more tips and tweaks for the Railo Administrator as well as how to set-up Railo for best performance you shouldn't miss the training.
We've all had issues with server crashes, instability or poor application performance - no program is completely error free. Typically though, people wait until things "go bad" until they do something about it. The clues to why these things occur are almost always embedded in various log-files that have accumulated over time. The first part of the presentation will focus on tools ä resources available to find you this information.
Once you have the data, the difficult part is how to interpret and analyze it. Whether you're investigating failure analysis or you're interested in continuous improvement of your application - you have to be able to analyze and understand vast amounts of complex data. We will be demonstrating our latest addition to the Fusion product suite - FusionAnalytics - which lets you do just that.
